What is Sock Fight?
Since the Alumni Volunteer Challenge launched in April 2013, U of A alumni have completed more than 2,015 acts of volunteer service and, as of Alumni Weekend 2014, more than 2,015 individual volunteers will have contributed their time and talents.
The success of the Challenge has knocked our socks off!
To celebrate, we've balled up 4,030 pairs of green and gold socks (representing the 2,015+ alumni volunteers and their 2,015+ acts of volunteerism) and we're going to make them available for alumni, staff and students to hurl, fling and lob at one another at a little event we call Sock Fight. After the event, all of the socks will be donated to three local charities — Boyle Street Community Services, Salvation Army and iHuman Youth Society.
From our campus to our communities, University of Alberta alumni are committed to doing great things through volunteerism.
Make your time count. Sign up! Be a part of the Alumni Volunteer Challenge and help us engage 2,015 alumni volunteers by the Alumni Association's 100th birthday in 2015.
Alumni Ambassadors support the U of A through advocacy, student mentorship, event support and more.
Alumni around the world are dedicated to contributing their time and talents to causes they're passionate about.
